Cleaning the garbage disposal without harsh chemicals

By Admin On August 14, 2009 Under Featured Post, Tips

Recently, on my local mommy forum, I saw someone post about cleaning the garbage disposal. It can get pretty nasty. So, how do I clean it without using harsh chemicals?

1. I put white vinegar in an ice cube tray and freeze it over night.
2. I sprinkle baking soda down into the disposal area.
3. I place about 5-6 white vinegar cubes in the disposal and turn it on. I let it run until it is all chopped up.
4. I run hot hot water down the drain to rinse.

You can store the extra cubes in a ziploc bag in the freezer to use for next time.
